The Museum of the Future will soon host the Middle East's first-ever appearance of Audi's distinctive and iconic S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron. The S1 Hoonitron has drawn attention on a global scale ever since Ken Block, the late, well-known drifter, drove it in the movie Elektrikhana. Millions of people have already seen the movie in theaters around the world, and the S1 Hoonitron is already a fan favorite.
The S1 Hoonitron is just one of the exciting Audi show cars that will be on display for visitors this year as part of the successful ongoing collaboration between Audi Middle East and the museum, which is now in its second year. The S1 Hoonitron will be the most recent Audi futuristic car concept on display at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The partnership intends to advance forward-thinking concepts and ideas that advance development and shape the mobility of the future, assisting the nation in realizing its UAE Net Zero strategic plan by 2050.
The S1 Hoonitron, which draws inspiration from the classic 1987 Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak car, mixes electric drivetrains from motorsport with large-scale production, reflecting the brand's electrification strategy and sustainability initiatives.
The front and rear axles of the ground-breaking Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron are each driven by a motor-generator unit (MGU), which also powers the entire all-wheel drive system. Four high-voltage batteries that are 800 volts each and come from a typical Audi PHEV vehicle power the drivetrain system. The five MGUs produce a combined output of 500 kW and 640 Nm of torque, with each producing 250 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque.
"We are thrilled to bring the Audi S1 Hoonitron to the Middle East for the first time and to showcase it in partnership with the Museum of the Future," said Carsten Bender, Managing Director of Audi Middle East, of the vehicle. We think there will be a large number of people eager to view the vehicle because fans are already familiar with it from the renowned film of Ken Block pushing the prototype to its absolute limits in Las Vegas. The S1 Hoonitron is another outstanding illustration of Audi's dedication to innovation and electrification, and we are eager to show it to auto enthusiasts and Audi supporters in the area.
"We look forward to showcasing Audi's iconic S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron at the Museum of the Future, which has quickly become an iconic landmark for Dubai and the UAE as a whole," said Majed Al Mansoori, Deputy Executive Director of the Museum of the Future. The Museum of the Future acts as a comprehensive lab for future cities, technology, and concepts, as well as an incubator for futurists, visionaries, and talent. In keeping with the UAE's Net Zero strategic plan by 2050, we hope to demonstrate a fresh vision of the future and sustainable transportation through our collaboration with Audi Middle East.
The Audi S1 e-tron quattro Hoonitron will be on display at the Tomorrow Today exhibition till the end of April 2023, replacing other iconic Audi showcars including the Audi Vision GT, A6 Avant e-tron concept, Skysphere, and A:I ME thus far.
