Muslim World League expresses dissatisfaction over vetoed Gaza ceasefire resolution

Makkah, February 21, 2024, The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed its dissatisfaction and regret regarding the veto of the draft resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The resolution, submitted by the Republic of Algeria to the UN Security Council, aimed to protect the lives and property of Palestinians in the strip. MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa called on the international community to fulfill its responsibility to protect civilians, maintain international peace and security, and end the humanitarian disaster and the war in Gaza, which violates international laws and customs. The statement emphasized that the barbaric war in Gaza undermines confidence in the international order.
