Makkah, May 11, 2024—The UN General Assembly's resolution recognizing the State of Palestine's right to full membership in the UN was warmly received by the Muslim World League (MWL).
In a statement released by the MWL General Secretariat, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, and the MWL Secretary General both affirmed that the resolution unambiguously reflects the global agreement supporting the Palestinian people's right to create an independent state within the parameters of the two-state solution.
The MWL Secretary-General also commended the honorable stance taken by the nations that supported the resolution, urging the heads of the UN Security Council to uphold their historical duty and support the human and legal right of the Palestinian people.
