MWL Launches Several Initiatives for African Youth in Conjunction with International Youth Day


Lilongwe, Malawi has been selected by the Muslim World League to host this year's International Youth Day festivities.


Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa unveiled intellectual and developmental initiatives, including as orphan care and empowerment programs, for youth in Africa.


More than 50,000 people attended Tanzania's inaugural female Quran memorization competition.



"Makkah, August 13, 2024." The capital of Malawi, Lilongwe, has been chosen by the Muslim World League (MWL) to host this year's International Youth Day ceremony. The Muslim World League's Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, was present at the festivities among the league's orphans. Additionally, he made announcements on other educational and developmental initiatives for youth in Africa.Together with educational initiatives like Tanzania's first competition for female Quran memorizers, which drew over 50,000 participants, there were programs for the empowerment and care of orphans. These initiatives were part of the efforts.Two other projects that are currently in the works are the African Youth Parliament, which will be held on Saturday at the Kenyan Parliament's offices, and the Africa Youth Forum 2024, which will be held on Thursday at the United Nations headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya's capital.
