Makkah, April 12, 2025, The Muslim World League (MWL) condemned the decision by the Israeli occupation government to shut down six schools operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in occupied Jerusalem. The move is part of a pattern of systematic violations targeting UN institutions, both politically and militarily, and undermining international resolutions concerning the rights of the Palestinian people.
In a statement, MWL Secretary-General and Organization of Muslim Scholars Chairman Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa reaffirmed full support for UNRWA and its humanitarian mission in aid of the Palestinian people. He called for united efforts from countries, organizations, and individuals worldwide to confront ongoing Israeli aggression, which blatantly violates international and humanitarian laws and norms.
The MWL secretary-general emphasized that every living conscience across the globe must demand an end to the Israeli government’s war machine and insist on the activation of both international and humanitarian laws, which remain paralyzed in the face of the horrific genocide being perpetrated against Palestinian civilians in clear view of the international community.
