Najran, March 22, 2025 – Rural tourism in Najran offers an ideal escape for those eager to explore the region’s breathtaking natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, while also providing a chance to relax and interact with the local community.
Ibrahim Al Mansour, Head of the Tourism Cooperative Society in Najran, told the Saudi Press Agency that rural tourism attracts both domestic and international visitors, who are drawn to the area’s scenic landscapes, traditional mudbrick homes, and the welcoming nature of the locals.
Al Mansour emphasized that rural life is most clearly seen in the villages along the banks of Wadi Najran, where tourists can take in views of traditional mud palaces, lush orchards filled with ancient palm trees, expansive wheat and grape fields, and impressive mountain formations. Visitors are not only enchanted by the stunning scenery but also by the warm hospitality of the people, who invite them to experience local customs, traditional foods, and refreshing beverages.
Ahmed Nasser, a farmer from Al-Hudn village, which is home to landmarks like the Raum Castle and Al-Aan Palace, mentioned that tourists visit to enjoy nature and learn about local farming practices. He noted that the village successfully combines traditional and modern agricultural methods, experimenting with crops like strawberries, coffee, grapes, and dates.
Rural trails along the Najran Valley also offer breathtaking viewpoints, making them a popular year-round destination, especially during Ramadan when visitors flock to the valley before Iftar to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.
