National Center for Meteorology Records Highest Rainfall in Madinah

 


The highest rainfall of 37.4 millimeters was recorded in the Madinah region, with other regions also experiencing scattered rainfall over a 24-hour period.


Specific rainfall amounts included 35.2 millimeters at the Madinah airport, 17.4 millimeters in Makkah’s Yalamlam and Al-Leith, and 16.6 millimeters in Aseer’s Bani Umar and Al Namas.


The report details varying rainfall levels across regions, including 28.6 millimeters in Al-Baha and minimal rainfall in Najran with 0.6 millimeters.


Riyadh, August 31, 2024 – In recent weather updates, the National Center for Meteorology has reported that the Madinah region experienced the highest rainfall over the past 24 hours, with a total of 37.4 millimeters recorded. This measurement stands out among eight regions that observed varying degrees of scattered rainfall during this period.


According to a comprehensive report from the Ministry of Environment, the rainfall was measured between 9 a.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. The detailed observations are as follows:


Madinah Region: The airport area saw 35.2 millimeters of rain, while the Haram area received 27.6 millimeters, highlighting a significant accumulation in this region.


Makkah Region: Yalamlam and Al-Leith reported 17.4 millimeters of rainfall, contributing to notable precipitation in this area. Additionally, Al-Leith Dam experienced 8.0 millimeters of rainfall.

Qassim Region: Uqlat Al Saqoor recorded a modest 1.8 millimeters of rain.


Aseer Region: Both Bani Umar and Al Namas experienced 16.6 millimeters of rainfall, reflecting substantial rain in these locations.


Tabuk Region: Al Maazam and Tabuk received 3.4 millimeters of rain, marking the rainfall amount for this area.


jazan Region: Al Jabal Al Aswad and Al-Reith recorded 7.2 millimeters of rainfall, contributing to the total for Jazan.


Najran Region: Bader Al Janoub observed a minimal 0.6 millimeters of rainfall.


Al-Baha Region: This region received a significant 28.6 millimeters of rain, measured in Bilkhazmar and Al Mandaq.
