Riyadh, August 29, 2024 – In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity infrastructure, the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) of Saudi Arabia has announced the opening of applications for the Managed Security Operations Center (MSOC) services license. This initiative aligns with NCA's strategic goals to advance the cybersecurity sector, foster a conducive environment for investment, and enhance competitiveness within the cybersecurity market. Ultimately, these efforts aim to elevate the quality of cybersecurity services provided to national organizations across the Kingdom.
Starting from Wednesday, August 28th, and spanning a period of 60 days, applications for MSOC licenses can be submitted via the “Haseen” national cybersecurity services portal. The introduction of these service licenses marks a crucial step toward fulfilling the objectives outlined in the National Cybersecurity Strategy. By issuing these licenses, the NCA seeks to strengthen the Kingdom's cybersecurity defenses and build a comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem that caters to the increasing demand for advanced cybersecurity services.
This initiative also reflects the NCA's commitment to nurturing specialized national capabilities in cybersecurity. By enabling national organizations to access mature, reliable, and high-quality cybersecurity services, the Kingdom aims to create a robust framework that supports its economic and security objectives. The NCA has provided an “Investor’s Guide” on its website, which offers detailed information about the licensing process and outlines the journey for investors and service providers entering the cybersecurity field. Interested parties can access this guide and additional information at [nca.gov.sa/en/registration-and-licensing](https://nca.gov.sa/en/registration-and-licensing).
The NCA encourages all potential service providers who wish to offer MSOC services in the Kingdom to thoroughly review and meet the criteria outlined in the “Regulatory Framework for Licensing Managed Security Operations Center Services.” This framework is crucial for ensuring that providers align with national cybersecurity standards and deliver services that meet the Kingdom’s stringent security requirements.
As the primary authority responsible for cybersecurity in Saudi Arabia, the NCA plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the nation's vital interests, national security, critical infrastructure, high-priority sectors, and essential government services. The Authority continues to drive initiatives that enhance the cybersecurity posture of the Kingdom, ensuring it remains resilient against evolving cyber threats and maintains a secure environment for its citizens and institutions.
By promoting a competitive and secure cybersecurity sector, the NCA not only aims to protect national interests but also to position Saudi Arabia as a leading hub for cybersecurity innovation and investment in the region.
