The National Water Company (NWC) northwest division has announced its readiness to provide water and environmental services for visitors to the Prophet's Mosque, as well as other sacred sites within the same city of Madinah at the end of 1445 H Hajj. The National Water Commission (NWC) reports that the regular pumping and distribution of water, giving priority to the central area and religious sites, and continuous cooperation with water desalination entities to ensure the availability of strategic storage quantities exceeding 2.8 million cubic meters are among the items included in the operational plan for the current Hajj season. Some 1,200 qualified workers have been tasked with the job of putting the plan into effect and maintaining all the pipes, which lead to the important places. Chemical and biological tests have to be carried out at the water laboratory to make sure that the water being supplied for human consumption is of drinking quality.
