Riyadh, October 19, 2023, As per the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), today's weather outlook indicates a mix of moderate and torrential thundershowers, accompanied by brisk winds, in select areas of Jazan, Asir, Baha, and Makkah regions. Additionally, fog is expected to develop during the nighttime and early morning hours in specific parts of the Eastern Region, as well as at certain elevations within the Asir and Baha regions.
Over in the Red Sea, prevailing winds will take a northerly to northwesterly direction in the northern and central sectors, clocking in at speeds ranging from 20 to 45 kilometers per hour. In the southern portion of the Red Sea, these winds will initially be southerly to southwesterly, gradually shifting westward to a northwesterly direction, with speeds ranging from 12 to 30 kilometers per hour, and the potential for thunderstorms in the southern area.
Meanwhile, within the Arabian Gulf, the winds will start as southerly to southeasterly, gradually transitioning to an easterly direction during the night in the northern and central sections, at speeds between 15 to 40 kilometers per hour. In the southern segment of the Arabian Gulf, the winds will begin as northerly to northeasterly, gradually veering to southerly and southwesterly directions, with speeds ranging from 10 to 30 kilometers per hour.
