Riyadh, October 23, 2023, The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather forecast indicating that today, various regions in Saudi Arabia will experience moderate to torrential thundershowers. These meteorological events are expected to be accompanied by strong winds, affecting areas in Northern Borders, Jawf, Tabuk, Hail, and Madinah regions. Furthermore, the adverse weather conditions are likely to extend into some parts of Makkah, Baha, Asir, Jazan, and the Eastern Region.
The NCM predicts that these weather patterns will not only reduce visibility but also lead to the formation of fog in these regions. In addition to these conditions, the Southern parts of the Eastern Region and some areas in the Najran region may experience partially cloudy skies with thunderstorms. These thunderstorms could be preceded by strong winds carrying dust.
Over the Red Sea, the winds are anticipated to blow from the northeasterly to westerly directions in the northern and central parts, with speeds ranging from 15 to 40 km/h. In the southern part of the Red Sea, winds are expected to come from the southerly to southwesterly directions, with speeds of 12 to 30 km/h, along with the presence of thunderclouds. Similarly, in the Arabian Gulf, the winds will prevail from the northeasterly to northwesterly directions, registering speeds between 15 to 40 km/h.
