Riyadh, December 29, 2023, The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather forecast for Friday, indicating the potential for moderate to heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by torrential rains, brisk winds, and hail in various regions of Saudi Arabia. The affected areas include Makkah, Al-Qassim, Hail, Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Riyadh, the Eastern region, and Madinah.
Additionally, thunderstorms, rains, brisk winds, and the formation of fog are expected in parts of Jazan, Asir, and Al-Baha regions.
Surface winds along the northern and central parts of the Red Sea are forecasted to be northeasterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 15 to 35 km/h. In the southern part, winds are expected to be southeasterly to southwesterly, gradually shifting to westerly, with speeds ranging from 15 to 45 km/h. Waves in the Red Sea could reach up to two and a half meters, and clouds will form over the southern part of the sea, which is anticipated to be moderately calm.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are predicted to be northerly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 15 to 45 km/h. Clouds are expected in the northern part of the Gulf, and waves could reach up to two and a half meters. Thunderstorms and rain may occur, and the sea is forecasted to be moderately calm but could become choppy in the northern part.
