Riyadh, January 26, 2024, According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), today's weather forecast indicates the persistence of thunderstorms accompanied by brisk winds causing dust stirrings in various regions, including Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, Madina, Al-Qassim, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, extending to parts of Riyadh, and the Eastern regions. The report also anticipates the formation of fog in certain areas within these regions.
The NCM suggests that there remains a possibility of light snowfall in the elevated areas of the Tabuk region, particularly in Alaqan, Al-Dhahar, and Jabal Al-Lawz. Additionally, a temperature drop is expected, especially in parts of the western and central regions of the Kingdom.
Surface winds along the Red Sea are predicted to move north to northwesterly in the northern and central areas at speeds ranging from 25-50 km/hour. In the southern part of the sea, the winds are forecasted to be southwesterly to northwesterly, maintaining speeds of 15-45 km/hour. The NCM report notes that wave heights will range from one and a half meters to two and a half meters, with the sea condition described as moderate to wavy.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface wind movement is anticipated to be northeasterly to southeasterly at speeds of 15-40 km/hour in the northern part, while in the central and southern parts, winds are expected to be southerly to southeasterly at speeds of 15-35 km/hour. The NCM report indicates that the height of waves in this region will range from half a meter to one and a half meters, characterized as light to medium.
