Riyadh, January 27, 2024, The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather forecast predicting cold conditions across most regions of the Kingdom this Saturday.
According to the forecast, the sky is expected to be partly cloudy, with winds causing dust stirrings in parts of the Northern Border, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, and Madinah regions. Additionally, southern neighborhoods of Riyadh are likely to experience dust in the air.
Thunderclouds, accompanied by active winds, are forecasted in parts of the Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Eastern regions. The report also anticipates the formation of fog in these areas. In the highlands of the Tabuk region, including Alaqan, Al-Dhahar, and Al-Lawz Mountain, light snowfall is a possibility.
The NCM report details that surface winds along the Red Sea will be northerly to northwesterly, reaching speeds of 25-50 km/hour. Waves might reach two and a half meters, with the sea ranging from relatively calm to choppy.
In the Arabian Gulf, surface winds are expected to be northeasterly to southeasterly, reaching speeds of 15-40 km/hour in the northern part of the gulf. Thunderclouds are also forecast over the northern and central parts of the gulf. In the southern part of the gulf, winds will be southern to southeasterly, reaching speeds of 10-32 km/hour. Waves are projected to range from one to over two meters, with the sea expected to be relatively calm.
