New York, United States, February 6, 2024 – NEOM, the ambitious sustainable regional development project in northwest Saudi Arabia, has expanded its international presence by inaugurating its first U.S. office in New York City, a global hub for finance and innovation. The new office, situated at 50 Hudson Yards in Manhattan, follows the opening of NEOM's London office in November 2023.
The opening ceremony of the New York City office was graced by the esteemed presence of HRH Ambassador Reema Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, who attended at the invitation of Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM. Ambassador Al Saud addressed the distinguished guests and strategic partners, emphasizing NEOM's potential to drive innovation, sustainable development, and economic diversification on a global scale.
The establishment of the New York City office underscores NEOM's commitment to fostering collaborations with U.S. entities and attracting investments from the United States. By leveraging partnerships with leading American industries, corporations, and investors, NEOM aims to accelerate its efforts in addressing global challenges and redefining standards for livability, business, and conservation.
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, highlighted the significance of working alongside global partners to realize NEOM's vision. New York City was chosen as the location for the second international NEOM office due to its prominence as a center for business and finance, offering ample opportunities for expanding partnerships across various industry verticals and business sectors.
Leading the NEOM USA Office as Managing Director will be Bob Stefanowski, a seasoned global financial executive with extensive experience in leadership roles at prominent organizations such as General Electric, UBS, and 3i Group plc. Stefanowski's appointment underscores NEOM's commitment to fostering strong relationships and driving strategic initiatives in the United States.
One notable example of NEOM's existing partnerships with U.S. entities is the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC), a joint venture between Air Products, ACWA Power, and NEOM. NGHC is spearheading the development of the world's largest carbon-free green hydrogen plant in NEOM, representing a transformative investment in sustainable technology. With its presence in New York City, NEOM aims to further collaborate with U.S. companies to incubate and commercialize innovative sustainable technologies for deployment in NEOM and beyond.
