Chicago, United States, NEOM, the sustainable regional development in northwestern Saudi Arabia, honored high-performing scholarship students from the Tabuk region at a special event in Chicago, United States. The occasion celebrated the achievements of the 130 participants from NEOM’s 2023 Scholarship Program, which sponsors Tabuk students for tertiary studies abroad and provides valuable work experience. A total of 118 students from the 2023 cohort were feted in Chicago, with 49 honored for academic excellence or innovative contributions.
The event allowed students to showcase their achievements, connect with NEOM leaders, and discuss future collaborations. The program builds on the success of the previous year's gathering in Washington, D.C., and featured presentations by students on NEOM projects, including Trojena, Oxagon, and ENOWA. Notable figures from NEOM, including Professor Andreas Cangellaris, Dr. Mahmoud Alyamany, and Nada Alshaibani, attended alongside NEOM CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr.
The NEOM Scholarship Program, initiated in 2019, supports Saudi students and high-achieving school leavers. With a focus on academic excellence and community involvement, the program has supported 740 undergraduate students and recent graduates. Scholarship recipients study at renowned institutions in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Upon completion, they are offered positions within NEOM, aligning their knowledge and skills with the development needs of NEOM's future. The program reflects NEOM's commitment to talent development, innovation, and building a dynamic workforce to achieve Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 goals.
