The event, attended by 118 students from the Tabuk region, with 49 receiving special recognition for their outstanding accomplishments, underscored NEOM's commitment to cultivating future leaders, fostering collaboration, and aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
Led by NEOM CEO Nadhmi Al-Nasr, the ceremony celebrated the educational milestones of participants from NEOM's 2023 Scholarship Program, which sponsors Tabuk students for tertiary studies abroad and provides valuable work experience. Gathering in Chicago, 118 students were lauded for their academic achievements, with 49 students commended for their academic excellence and innovative contributions. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their accomplishments, engage with NEOM leaders, and explore future collaborative opportunities.
Building on the success of last year's gathering in Washington, D.C., this year's event in Chicago featured presentations by students on NEOM's key projects, including Trojena, Oxagon, and ENOWA. Notable NEOM figures, including Professor Andreas Cangellaris, Founding President of NEOM University, Dr. Mahmoud Alyamany, Head of Health and Wellbeing, and Nada Alshaibani, Head of NEOM Digital Media Academy, joined the NEOM CEO at the event.
Speaking at the occasion, Nadhmi Al-Nasr emphasized NEOM's role as a catalyst for nurturing talented young minds, fostering academic excellence, and promoting community engagement. He highlighted the program's holistic approach, which includes field trips and internships at NEOM, providing students with practical exposure to diverse sectors and operations. Al-Nasr emphasized NEOM's commitment to cultivating a generation that not only excels academically but also actively contributes to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
The NEOM Scholarship Program, targeting Saudi students and high-achieving school graduates, has supported 740 undergraduate students and recent graduates since its inception in 2019. Participants study at esteemed institutions in Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with opportunities for employment within NEOM's sectors upon graduation. This initiative underscores NEOM's dedication to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, and building a dynamic workforce to realize the ambitious goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.
