NEOM, Saudi Arabia, April 17, 2024 — NEOM has embarked on its China leg of the global ‘Discover NEOM’ tour with showcases in Beijing and Shanghai, drawing in over 500 senior business and industry leaders. The tour commenced in Beijing on April 15 and continued in Shanghai on April 17.
In collaboration with CCPIT Beijing and CCPIT Shanghai, NEOM's leadership team delivered presentations during the events, spotlighting the progress and achievements achieved thus far. The sessions also delved into NEOM’s diverse economic sectors, presenting compelling opportunities for Chinese companies to engage and invest in NEOM. Several companies expressed keen interest and engaged in discussions about potential collaborations with NEOM.
One of the key components of the agenda was a construction-focused forum, attracting more than 100 companies interested in learning about the extensive opportunities available for Chinese construction firms within NEOM. Participants gained insights into the ongoing construction progress across NEOM and its regions.
A private showcase titled ‘Discover NEOM: A New Future by Design’ provided an immersive experience for attendees, exploring key projects like THE LINE, Oxagon, Trojena, and Sindalah. These projects represent innovative approaches to urban living, industrial models, mountain resorts, and luxury island destinations, respectively.
Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, expressed gratitude to CCPIT Beijing and CCPIT Shanghai for their support and emphasized the strategic importance of engaging with China. NEOM has already established partnerships with over 15 major Chinese businesses and invested in Chinese startups to drive growth and diversification.
Guo Huaigang, Chairman of CCPIT Beijing, highlighted the potential for economic cooperation between NEOM and Beijing, aligned with their shared goals of productivity enhancement, reforms, innovation, and environmental protection.
Zhao Zhuping, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal Government, underscored Shanghai's commitment to deepening engagement with NEOM, particularly in infrastructure, renewable energy, and technological innovation.
