NEOM launches "Zardun" resort, enhancing luxury ecotourism in Saudi Arabia

NEOM, January 24, 2024, NEOM's Board of Directors has unveiled the launch of "Zardun," an exclusive resort and natural reserve aimed at contributing to the restoration and rejuvenation of the surrounding environment. This initiative aligns with NEOM's broader objective of developing luxury ecotourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Positioned as NEOM's newest coastal destination, Zardun is designed to seamlessly integrate modern luxury with the intrinsic beauty of nature, complementing various other coastal destinations within NEOM's larger regional projects. Nestled overlooking the azure waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, the Zardun Nature Resort will comprise four unique, ultra-luxurious structures that harmonize with the natural landscape. It represents a distinctive destination where luxury converges with nature, offering visitors an unparalleled ecotourism experience.

Encompassing an expansive four-square-kilometer area, Zardun has been meticulously planned as a reserve to preserve the diverse habitat of indigenous flora and fauna. The state-of-the-art Experience Center will enable visitors to appreciate its beauty, featuring an observation deck with a 360-degree panoramic view facilitating the observation of wildlife details and the appreciation of the natural surroundings.

Zardun is set to host three luxury boutique hotels with a combined total of 100 rooms and suites, each embracing a futuristic vision focused on sustainability to safeguard the environment being developed for the first time. The hotels will adopt distinct approaches to provide unique experiences for guests, showcasing breathtaking views of the valley floor and beachfront.

The destination will offer an array of outdoor activities, including hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, stargazing, meditation, and yoga. Visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in educational programs focused on nature protection, conservation, and resettlement.

Emphasizing a commitment to sustainability, Zardun's strategy includes innovative conservation methods such as the creation of oases to support diverse natural habitats. Leveraging existing water sources, the initiative aims to revitalize the natural habitat for local flora and fauna. Along the coastline, Zardun will contribute to the preservation of coral reefs and marine species in the Gulf of Aqaba, exemplifying NEOM's ongoing dedication to nature conservation.

Zardun joins NEOM's recent project announcements, including Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, and Aquellum. All these sustainable tourism destinations along the Gulf of Aqaba underscore NEOM's steadfast commitment to sustainable progress.
