NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, 31 October 2023: NEOM, the sustainable development project in northwest Saudi Arabia, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BlueNalu, a leading developer of cell-cultured seafood. The collaboration focuses on advancing the commercialization, marketing, and distribution of cell-cultured seafood products with a shared goal of improving food security and access to healthy foods. Key objectives include establishing an innovation ecosystem, educating the public, conducting consumer research, and engaging with regulatory agencies. This partnership follows NEOM's $20 million investment in BlueNalu, enabling the growth of sustainable seafood production. NEOM Investment Fund and NEOM Food executives emphasize the importance of sustainability in this collaboration. Cell-cultured seafood, produced directly from fish cells, has the potential to revolutionize seafood production, offering a consistent, healthy, and environmentally friendly alternative.
