NEOM, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, January 24, 2024 – Saudi Arabia's push towards luxury ecotourism has reached a significant milestone with the unveiling of Zardun, an exclusive sanctuary resort developed by NEOM, the sustainable region evolving in the Kingdom's northwest. The NEOM Board of Directors announced Zardun as the latest addition to the ongoing coastal developments across the NEOM region, representing a fusion of contemporary luxury and natural surroundings.
Situated overlooking the pristine waters of the Gulf of Aqaba, Zardun stands out as a nature-centric resort featuring four ultra-luxurious signature buildings seamlessly integrated into the surrounding landscape. With a commitment to redefine luxury in an environmental context, Zardun aims to provide a premium ecotourism experience for discerning guests.
Spanning an impressive four square kilometers, Zardun is conceived as a carefully restored sanctuary boasting a rich habitat of indigenous flora and fauna. As visitors arrive, they will be greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the landscape stretching from the mountains to the seashore, showcased at the state-of-the-art experience center featuring a 360-degree observation deck.
Comprising three distinctive boutique hotels offering a total of 100 rooms and suites, Zardun's design reflects a vision of a more sustainable future within its newly restored environment. Each hotel will offer a unique theme, allowing guests to indulge in various experiences while enjoying stunning views of the valley and sea.
Zardun will cater to outdoor enthusiasts with activities such as trekking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and other sports, alongside leisure pursuits like stargazing, meditation, and yoga. Educational and field programs on nature protection, conservation, and re-wilding will also be available for guests to participate in.
In line with its sustainability strategy, Zardun will implement comprehensive environmental stewardship initiatives, including the creation of oases to support diverse habitats and the revitalization of native animals and plant species. The resort will contribute to the conservation of coral reefs and marine life in the Gulf of Aqaba, aligning with NEOM's steadfast commitment to environmental preservation.
As the latest addition to NEOM's sustainable tourism destinations, joining Leyja, Epicon, Siranna, Utamo, Norlana, and Aquellum, Zardun underscores NEOM's dedication to sustainable progress in the Gulf of Aqaba.
