Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) and flyadeal plan to expand the SAUDIA Group Network by 25 more locations in 2023:
All new routes are expected to launch in 2023. The airline will shortly release additional schedule information for the announced destinations.
Regarding the growth of the company's international network, SAUDIA Group Director General, H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, said, "SAUDIA Group has been spreading the kingdom's ambitions, values, and traditions across every corner of its network, as it flies the country's flag around the world. Our visitors will have more access to and options at these new locations. It's time to grow our worldwide network in novel and interesting ways, given the rise in demand for international travel.
"Your Ticket, Your Visa" was just introduced by SAUDIA in January. By connecting transit permits and aircraft tickets through a digital integration system, the first-of-its-kind service gives visitors even easier access to the Kingdom. With the new service, travelers will be encouraged to conduct Umrah, visit important locations, and attend events while they are traveling within the Kingdom. With the new service, which is available at all of the Kingdom's international airports, visitors will be able to remain for up to 96 hours, travel the country, and complete the Umrah. The transit visa can be issued more quickly and linked to a SAUDIA travel ticket thanks to the digital connectivity with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
SAUDIA began in 1945 with a single, twin-engine DC-3 (Dakota) that U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave to King Abdul Aziz as a present. A few months later, two more DC-3s were bought, laying the foundation of what would soon grow to be one of the biggest airlines in the world.
The newest and most technologically advanced wide-bodied jets now on the market, the B787-9, B777-300ER, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321, and Airbus A330-300, are among the 142 aircraft that SAUDIA currently operates. SAUDIA has been recognized as a 5-Star Global Airline and has received a Diamond certification in the APEX Health Safety category thanks to its activities over the past year.
On September 23, 2017, Saudi National Day, flyadeal's inaugural flight from Jeddah to Riyadh took off. With 10,000 seats sold in the first 24 hours of going on sale, it was the first airline in the world to launch exclusively through digital methods.
Beginning with a trip from Jeddah to Riyadh, the low-cost carrier's network now spans 27 seasonal, international, and local destinations.
