London, March 21, 2025, Newcastle United won the English Football League (EFL) Carabao Cup for the first time in their history, defeating Liverpool 2-1 in the final at Wembley Stadium.
Dan Burn gave Newcastle the lead in the 45th minute with a goal from a corner, followed by Alexander Isak doubling the advantage in the 52nd minute.
Liverpool's only goal came from Federico Chiesa in the 94th minute, just before the final whistle.
This victory adds to Newcastle's historic achievements, including four English championships (1905, 1907, 1909, 1927), six FA Cups (1910, 1924, 1932, 1951, 1952, 1955), the Community Shield in 1909, and the Intertoto Cup in 2006.
