Riyadh, October 24, 2023, In commemoration of 50 years of Korean-Saudi collaboration in the construction sector, the National Housing Company (NHC) has officially entered into a cooperative agreement with the Korean NAVER Cloud Corporation. The signing ceremony, attended by President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol, signifies a commitment to strengthen collaboration, exchange expertise in implementing cutting-edge solutions, and integrate spatial data layers into geographic information systems (GIS).
This strategic move lays the groundwork for advanced digital solutions within the main cities of Saudi Arabia through the Baladi platform. The platform facilitates the creation of three-dimensional city maps and simulation models, serving as a virtual representation of urban planning, flood management, and control and monitoring centers.
NHC's CEO, Engineer Mohammed Albuty, highlighted the agreement as a testament to the NHC's dedication to forging effective partnerships with top-tier technical systems. This approach is aimed at implementing global best practices and realizing the strategic objectives of the municipal and housing sectors. The overarching goal is to leverage leading-edge technologies in pursuit of a sustainable future. This involves comprehensive development, enhancing citizens' quality of life, advancing smart infrastructure, devising innovative technical solutions, and reinforcing digital capabilities for the development and operation of various government digital platforms.
