NIDLP and Newlab Launch Logistics Innovation Studio at the Global Logistics Forum


On October 13, 2024, the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) and Newlab formalized a partnership by signing a cooperation agreement to establish the Logistics Innovation Studio. This announcement took place during the inaugural Global Logistics Forum in Riyadh, which aims to elevate the logistics sector through enhanced collaboration and innovation.


The agreement encompasses a wide array of stakeholders, including the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services, the Transport General Authority (TGA), the Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA), the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), the Ports Development Company (King Abdullah Port), and Newlab. This diverse coalition reflects a comprehensive approach to addressing the multifaceted challenges facing the logistics industry.


The primary objective of the Logistics Innovation Studio is to expedite the development of solutions that confront strategic challenges within the logistics sector. By leveraging advanced technology, the studio seeks to foster innovation, improve operational efficiency, and enhance environmental sustainability. Furthermore, it aims to create a collaborative environment that connects global innovators with the Kingdom's transport and logistics ecosystem.


In addition to nurturing an environment conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship, the Logistics Innovation Studio will facilitate practical trials to promote the swift adoption of cutting-edge technologies. This initiative is designed to empower entrepreneurs and innovators, enabling them to effectively market their solutions both locally and internationally, thus contributing to the Kingdom’s overarching goals of economic diversification and technological advancement.
