Nissan Formula E Team prepares for 2023/24 season double-header in Diriyah

The Nissan Formula E Team is gearing up for the first double-header of the 2023/24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. The team aims to secure points under the lights in what is considered one of the most beloved events on the Formula E calendar.

After a strong recovery drive in Mexico City, where Oliver Rowland gained nine places, the Nissan Formula E Team is determined to leverage the pace of the Nissan e-4ORCE 04 and achieve top-10 finishes in Diriyah. The Diriyah E-Prix is the only night race in the Formula E series, featuring a demanding yet exhilarating street circuit.

The circuit's high-speed downhill section and challenges related to tire wear require drivers to navigate with concentration and bravery. The risk of accidents and potential Safety Car interventions adds complexity, forcing competitors to find the right balance between risk and caution.

On-track activities begin on Thursday, January 26, with Free Practice 1, followed by Round 2 on Friday, with qualifying at 15:20 AST (UTC+3) and the race at 20:00. The same schedule will be repeated for Round 3 on Saturday.

Nissan has a strong connection with Saudi Arabia dating back to 1957, and Petromin Nissan, the official authorized retail dealer in the Kingdom, has been an integral part of this relationship since 2016. Petromin Nissan is the team's official innovation partner for the Diriyah E-Prix, reflecting the collaborative commitment to innovation and customer service.

Tommaso Volpe, Managing Director and Team Principal of the Nissan Formula E Team, expressed optimism and highlighted the strong driver pairing of Oliver Rowland and Sacha Fenestraz. The team aims to iron out any issues and operate smoothly to capitalize on the double-header opportunity to score points.

Sacha Fenestraz, one of the team's drivers, expressed excitement about racing in Diriyah, citing the track's exciting features and fond memories of scoring his first Formula E points there. Oliver Rowland emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum from the positive experience in Mexico City, focusing on maximizing performance in qualifying to secure a strong position for the races.

The team's collaboration with Petromin Nissan is seen as a key partnership in one of Nissan's most important markets, and both brands look forward to sharing the excitement of Formula E with customers during the event.
