Washington, December 2, 2024 – In a remarkable achievement for Saudi youth, the non-profit organization Nuqsh has successfully empowered students to reach their academic dreams by helping 100 students gain acceptance to some of the world’s most prestigious universities. Among these, 70 students were admitted to the top 50 institutions, including renowned names such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Columbia University, and Stanford University. This milestone underscores Nuqsh’s growing influence in shaping the academic futures of young Saudis and positioning them on a global stage.
Founded in 2017 as a youth-led initiative, Nuqsh was born out of the shared experiences of a group of Saudi students who had gained admission to prominent global universities. Inspired by their time representing Saudi Arabia at international competitions, such as the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), the founders sought to harness the power of volunteerism and mentorship to support other aspiring students. Their vision aligned with the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly the emphasis on education, innovation, and youth development as pillars for the Kingdom’s future.
Since its inception, Nuqsh has introduced a number of pioneering programs, each designed to assist students in navigating the challenging pathways to top-tier universities. The organization’s mentoring program for high school seniors has been one of its most impactful initiatives, offering guidance and expert advice on applications, personal statements, and career pathways. Another cornerstone program is the guidance initiative, which is supported by the Misk Foundation, designed to provide tailored assistance to students across various academic levels.
Additionally, Nuqsh has organized a series of competitions aimed at fostering innovation and developing sustainable solutions, encouraging students to think critically and creatively while addressing global challenges. These programs not only prepare students academically but also instill in them the mindset and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in some of the world’s most competitive universities and beyond.
Nuqsh’s reach has expanded significantly over the years. Since 2019, the organization has broadened its operations to all regions of Saudi Arabia, offering workshops and mentoring opportunities for students from middle school through high school. As a result, the organization has empowered over 14,000 students in the past three years, guiding them on the path to academic success.
Today, Nuqsh boasts a dedicated team of over 80 mentors and volunteers, all graduates from globally recognized institutions, who generously share their expertise and experience. Their collective effort has had a profound impact on Saudi youth, helping to shape the next generation of leaders, innovators, and scholars. As Nuqsh continues to grow, it remains committed to its mission of empowering young Saudis and contributing to the development of a vibrant, knowledge-driven society in line with the aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
