Jeddah, August 06, 2023,The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expresses its ongoing concern regarding the situation in India, specifically with regards to the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. This concern persists even four years after the unilateral alteration of the territory's internationally recognized status. The General Secretariat, in a resolute manner, emphasizes its persistent appeal for the annulment of all illicit actions undertaken subsequent to the 5th of August, 2019, with the objective of altering the demographic composition of the contested region. The entity in question has expressed its unwavering support for the individuals residing in the region of Jammu and Kashmir as they continue their pursuit of exercising their inherent right to self-determination. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the General Secretariat has made reference to the decisions and resolutions put forth by the esteemed Islamic Summit and the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers regarding the matter of Jammu and Kashmir. These decisions and resolutions have unequivocally called for the urgent cessation of human rights violations taking place in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. The Secretariat once again emphasizes its appeal to the international community to intensify its endeavors in addressing this matter in accordance with the pertinent resolutions of the United Nations Security Council.
