OIC condemns disinformation and attacks on journalists in Gaza

Jeddah, February 22, 2024, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Observatory on Israel's Crimes against Palestinians strongly criticized the persistent disinformation campaign and assaults on journalists in Palestine, particularly in Gaza. In anticipation of the upcoming extraordinary session of the Islamic Conference of Information Ministers scheduled for February 24 in Istanbul, the observatory underscored the imperative to counter these tactics, which aim to obfuscate the reality of the crimes perpetrated by Israel, the occupying authority in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Emphasizing that the session will be attended by ministers responsible for media and communication from OIC member states, the observatory highlighted the importance of collective efforts to address the disinformation campaigns orchestrated by Israel against journalists in Palestine.

The observatory drew attention to the alarming incidents of killing, harassment, and violence endured by journalists while reporting on the ongoing Israeli atrocities in the Gaza Strip and the entirety of the occupied territory. This underscores the pressing need for international attention and action to safeguard journalists and ensure the dissemination of accurate information amid challenging circumstances.
