OIC condemns extremist settler groups under Israeli protection

Jeddah, April 14, 2024, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a strong condemnation of the daily atrocities and organized terrorism carried out by extremist settler groups, operating under the protection of Israeli occupation forces. These acts of violence encompass indiscriminate shootings targeting innocent Palestinian civilians, the wanton destruction of property, arson attacks on homes and vehicles, and the deliberate torching of agricultural lands across several villages in the West Bank. These assaults have resulted in numerous civilian casualties and injuries, constituting a continuation of Israel's aggressive actions against the Palestinian populace, blatantly violating international humanitarian laws.

The OIC has squarely placed responsibility on Israeli occupation authorities for the ongoing crimes and hostilities directed at Palestinians. The organization has urged the international community, with a particular focus on the United Nations (UN) Security Council, to guarantee the provision of international protection for Palestinians, emphasizing the urgent need for intervention to safeguard their lives and rights.

Furthermore, the OIC has called for an immediate and comprehensive cessation of Israel's relentless aggression targeting Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and the revered city of Jerusalem. It has also demanded that the Israeli occupation be held answerable for all its transgressions against the Palestinian people, their territories, and their sacred sites, underscoring the imperative of accountability and justice in addressing these egregious violations.
