OIC condemns Mogadishu attack, mourns loss of Somali, Bahraini, Emirati lives

Jeddah, February 12, 2024, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted a military base in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, resulting in the tragic loss of lives, including members of the Somali, Bahraini, and Emirati forces.

In a statement issued today, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Taha reiterated the organization's steadfast rejection of all forms of violence, extremism, and terrorism. The OIC stands firmly in support of the efforts made by the Somali government to combat terrorism and enhance security and stability within the country.

Secretary-General Taha extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the governments of the Federal Republic of Somalia, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also expressed sincere wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.

The OIC's condemnation of this heinous act underscores its commitment to promoting peace, security, and solidarity among its member states, as well as its determination to combat terrorism in all its manifestations.
