OIC denounces ongoing war crimes and Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the recent massacre in the Nuseirat camp by Israeli forces, resulting in many martyrs, injuries, and widespread destruction, deeming it an extension of ongoing state terrorism against Palestinians.

Jeddah, December 14, 2024 — The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the horrific massacre perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces in the Nuseirat camp, which occurred today, leading to numerous martyrs and injuries among the Palestinian population. The attack also caused widespread destruction of residential buildings and critical infrastructure in the area. The OIC views this massacre as yet another instance of Israel’s ongoing state terrorism and genocide against the Palestinian people, a situation that has persisted for more than fourteen months.

The OIC emphasized the gravity of the situation, urging the international community to take decisive action to hold Israel accountable for these crimes. The organization also welcomed the recent adoption of a UN General Assembly resolution calling for an immediate, permanent, and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, alongside the facilitation of humanitarian aid access to all parts of the besieged territory.

Additionally, the OIC expressed its support for another UN resolution that reaffirms the mandate of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), acknowledging its vital role in delivering essential services to Palestinian refugees. The OIC reiterated its call for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by compelling Israel, as the occupying power, to adhere to international law and to comply with relevant United Nations resolutions that seek to protect the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people.
