As of September 18, 2024, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since October 7, 2023, has reached 41,931, with 101,113 wounded. In the Gaza Strip alone, the death toll stands at 41,226, and the number of injured is 95,413. According to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Media Observatory, a total of 184,293 crimes and violations have been documented during this period.
The observatory reported that from October 7, 2023, to September 15, 2024, there were significant assaults on Palestinian facilities, including the demolition of 255 commercial establishments and 572 homes in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem. Additionally, there were 1,231 reported instances of attacks and property confiscation in these areas.
During the week of September 10 to 16, 2024, the OIC recorded 21 Israeli massacres in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 238 Palestinian deaths and 621 injuries. Notable incidents included the Al-Mawasi massacre, where 40 Palestinians were killed, and an assault on Al-Jaouni School, which claimed 18 lives, including six UNRWA employees.
The ongoing conflict has severely impacted education, with students in Gaza facing their second consecutive year without formal schooling. In the West Bank, Israeli authorities and settlers have harassed students, with closures of school access points and assaults on students reported.
In the West Bank, the OIC noted 12 Palestinian deaths and 195 arrests during the past week. Israeli forces continued their blockade of hospitals and disrupted ambulance services, carrying out demolitions of mosques and agricultural land. The situation remains dire, with extensive property destruction and settler violence reported.
