OIC Secretary General meets Sri Lankan Foreign Minister in Jeddah

Jeddah, March 04, 2024, The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, held a meeting in Jeddah today with Ali Sabry, the Foreign Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, along with his accompanying delegation. The discussions primarily focused on fostering cooperation and addressing matters of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Minister Sabry provided Secretary General Taha with an overview of the Sri Lankan government's initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being of the Muslim community in Sri Lanka. Additionally, he reiterated Sri Lanka's unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause and its continued support for the two-state solution.

Secretary General Taha underscored the OIC's significant role in promoting the welfare of Muslim communities worldwide. He expressed gratitude for the Sri Lankan government's commitment to collaborating with the OIC and its steadfast support for the Palestinian cause. The meeting emphasized the importance of international cooperation in addressing shared concerns and working towards the betterment of Muslim communities globally.
