Jeddah, August 27, 2023, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its support for the Rohingya Muslims and reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing justice and holding the Myanmar military accountable for the atrocities committed against them. This commitment will be particularly evident at the International Court of Justice. The OIC expressed gratitude for the support given by numerous OIC member states to these refugees and praised the government and people of Bangladesh for providing shelter and humanitarian aid to the Rohingya. The OIC reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to helping the Rohingya Muslims and urged all nations to reaffirm their commitment to fostering the "voluntary, safe, dignified, and sustainable return of Rohingya refugees to their homeland in Myanmar". In light of the significant fall in financing that led to reductions in food aid, the OIC General Secretariat urged the international community to step up efforts and offer desperately needed humanitarian support for the displaced Rohingya living in refugee camps. The beginning of the massive influx of Rohingya Muslims and other populations into Bangladesh on August 25, 2023, marked the beginning of the sixth year after their forcible mass exodus from Myanmar's Rakhine State.
