Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs arrives in Riyadh

Riyadh, October 19, 2023, Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al Said, the Omani Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Riyadh. Their visit is in preparation for the upcoming summit between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) scheduled for Friday.


Upon their arrival at King Khalid International Airport, the Omani delegation received a warm welcome from Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region, and GCC Secretary General Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi.


The reception was attended by Mayor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf, acting Chargé d'Affaires at Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Oman, Youssef bin Mohammed, and Oman’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Turki Al Said. This visit underscores the importance of the upcoming summit in strengthening ties and cooperation between the GCC and ASEAN.
