Makkah, June 14, 2024." Regulatory teams from the Transport General Authority (TGA) conducted over 9,000 road checks in Makkah and Madinah on various modes of transportation used during this year's Hajj season. The teams conducted these checks on the sixth day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah. The Transportation Generating Authority (TGA) used automated technology to record more than one thousand traffic offenses and more than one hundred seventy violations, achieving a compliance rate of 92%.


The inspections uncovered a number of violations, such as the operation of a transport vehicle without a valid operating card, the failure of drivers to adhere to the TGA's approved attire, the driving of a vehicle without a valid driver's license, and the absence of required documents for the transfer of commodities. According to the Transportation and General Authority (TGA), these regulatory checks are a part of the TGA's engagement in the Hajj season of 1445 AH, and their goal is to ensure that transportation services meet the established safety and security criteria.
