Vision-Aligned Article:

Saudi Arabia Strengthens Border Security

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has completed a comprehensive nationwide inspection campaign to enforce residency, labor, and border security regulations. Between May 1 and 7, 2025, the campaign recorded 15,928 violations, including breaches of residency (10,179), border security (3,912), and labor laws (1,837).

The campaign is part of the Kingdom’s strategic effort to ensure public safety, protect national sovereignty, and maintain orderly labor practices in alignment with Vision 2030.

Authorities detained 1,248 individuals attempting to enter the country illegally—primarily from Yemen and Ethiopia—and 45 individuals attempting to exit without proper documentation. In addition, 26 people were arrested for aiding violators through transportation, shelter, or employment, which is considered a major crime under Saudi law.

Currently, 25,689 expatriates are undergoing legal procedures. Of these, 12,898 have already been repatriated, while others are working with their embassies or arranging return logistics. The Ministry emphasized that those who help illegal migrants—by transporting or housing them—risk up to 15 years in prison and fines of SAR 1 million, along with confiscation of vehicles and properties.

This decisive action affirms the Kingdom’s zero-tolerance policy for illegal residency and reinforces Saudi Arabia’s role as a safe, regulated, and value-driven nation for all.
