Riyadh, March 23, 2025, The Communications, Space, and Technology Commission (CST) reported strong telecommunications network performance in Makkah and Madinah during the first half of Ramadan. A total of over 320 million calls were made, with Makkah recording 184 million local and 21 million international calls, while Madinah registered 107 million local and 10 million international calls.


According to commission statistics, 5G coverage reached 98% in Makkah and 99% in Madinah. Average daily data consumption per person significantly exceeded global averages, reaching 1,190MB in Makkah—three times the global average—and 1,495MB in Madinah—four times the global average. Mobile internet speeds averaged 210 Mbps in Makkah and 278 Mbps in Madinah.
