Makkah, June 15, 2024. The Arafat discourse is of tremendous importance. For the sake of praying, remembering Allah, and seeking a closer relationship with Him, pilgrims from all over the world congregate on the plains of Arafat on the holy day for the sake of Arafat. The speech, broadcast live to Muslims worldwide and translated into twenty different languages, unites them all. This sermon is delivered to Muslims regardless of their race, culture, or language, since it is the same.

The Arafat sermon has been delivered by sixteen eminent preachers throughout the course of the past century. Most recently, the Grand Mosque appointed Dr. Al-Muaiqly as the preacher and imam. The Saudi Arabian Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, is the one who has given the sermon the most times. Sheikh Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Sheikh, who departed, is the next to do so.

The Arafat discourse covers essential concepts like humanism, coexistence, and peace. It not only protects the Hajj pilgrimage but also encourages pilgrims to work together to accomplish these objectives, enhance Islamic principles and values, and create a spiritual and devotional environment. An integral part of the Hajj operations plan being formulated by the Religious Presidency is the translation of Arafat's lecture. To achieve this goal, the custodian of the two holy mosques makes an effort to simultaneously interpret the sermons delivered by Arafat and those delivered by the two holy mosques.

The goal of this endeavor is to improve the quality of language and translation services, which is consistent with Saudi Vision 2030 and the ongoing expansion of religious authority. The aim is to communicate to one billion people all over the world who follow Islam by translating the truth about Islam into more than twenty languages plus distributing it. The process involves the use of a dedicated mobile app for sermon interpretation, Presidency’s official website and Manarat Al Haramain platform.
