Pakistani Prime Minister Receives Minister of Investment

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Saudi Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih and a delegation from Saudi Arabia, praising the deep, historical bonds between the two countries and their ongoing cooperation.

Islamabad, October 11, 2024 – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed

the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Investment, Khalid Al-Falih, and his accompanying delegation from both the public and private sectors during an official meeting held in Islamabad yesterday. The visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the already close ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, focusing particularly on enhancing economic and investment collaboration between the two nations.


During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif expressed his profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, for their steadfast support of Pakistan. He emphasized the critical role Saudi Arabia has played in reinforcing and deepening bilateral relations, highlighting the long-standing fraternal and historical bonds that unite the two brotherly nations.


Sharif further reflected on the productive discussions that took place at the Saudi-Pakistani Business Forum, which saw the participation of both Saudi and Pakistani business communities. He noted with satisfaction the progress made during the forum, which has facilitated the development of new investment opportunities. The prime minister extended an invitation to Saudi investors to explore opportunities in Pakistan’s aviation sector, underscoring the country's desire to diversify and expand its economic relations with Saudi Arabia. He characterized the visit as a pivotal moment in broadening the scope of economic cooperation and investment between the two nations.


Minister Khalid Al-Falih affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to further promoting investment in Pakistan, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, minerals, mining, food security, and infrastructure. Al-Falih emphasized that Saudi Arabia views Pakistan as a strategic partner and is determined to contribute to Pakistan’s economic development through substantial investment in these vital industries.


The visit marks another important step in fostering closer economic ties, with both sides demonstrating their determination to enhance bilateral cooperation and expand investment horizons.
