Jeddah, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expressed the team's enthusiasm for their inaugural participation in the FIFA Club World Cup 2023, hosted in Saudi Arabia from December 12-22. Guardiola spoke during a press conference on Monday, highlighting the historic significance of this moment for the club.

Anticipating a highly competitive semi-final match against Japan’s Urawa Reds, Guardiola assured that Manchester City is fully prepared for the showdown at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. He emphasized the team's determination to make a lasting impression in the tournament.

Guardiola acknowledged Urawa Reds’ swift style of play and their ability to make sound decisions, particularly with players from the Japanese national team who showcased their football prowess in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Furthermore, Guardiola praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's impressive investment in football, emphasizing its global impact. He noted that the swift acquisition of world-class players by Saudi clubs serves as a testament to this substantial investment in the sport.
