Makkah, June 14, 2024. Since the commencement of the Hajj season in 1445 AH, the General Directorate of Civil Defense has bolstered the tasks and work of its teams, along with their preventive efforts, to ensure the readiness and availability of safety requirements and procedures in pilgrim camps and all sites. This has also ensured a prompt and efficient response to incidents, as well as an increased awareness of preventive measures and adherence to public safety principles. In accordance with the directives issued by the Kingdom's leadership to provide pilgrims with all services while also ensuring their comfort and safety, the directorate has established thirty seasonal centers to ensure pilgrims' safety and security.
Additionally, the directorate has organized workshops and awareness-raising programs for Hajj service providers and organizers located outside of the Kingdom. The Directorate has also increased the capabilities of its field centers and civil defense units and teams in order to enable them to perform their tasks to the fullest extent possible. In order to execute the Hajj general emergency plan and use field protection monitoring techniques at the holy site of Mina, we collaborated with the appropriate authorities. The Directorate has also taken part in exhibitions to guarantee pilgrim safety in Makkah and to increase awareness of contemporary emergency response tactics. In anticipation of pilgrims' arrival on the ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, the Directorate has expanded fieldwork in the Arafa region.
In order to guarantee the security and safety of pilgrims, it has dispatched preventative survey teams to monitor the construction of tents and electrical work, as well as to inspect entrances and passages and identify preventive monitoring sites.
