Pilgrims are urged by the president of religious affairs at Two Holy Mosques to observe security protocols and respect the holiness of the Grand Mosque.

On June 17, 2024, in Makkah, the President of the Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque made the following announcement. Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais has asked pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals with full hearts and complete knowledge of the sacredness of the Grand Mosque and Holy Sites. Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais has also urged pilgrims to refrain from any actions that could damage the location and bring disrepute to the fifth pillar of Islam. In his address to the pilgrims, Al-Sudais stated, "We expect you pilgrims to respect and protect the sanctity of the Grand Mosque, as well as its security and the safety of its visitors.


In addition, Al-Sudais anticipates that you will refrain from engaging in any activities that are in opposition to the greatness and safety of this blessed town, that you will not interfere with your ritual, that you will cooperate with the authorities who are working in the Holy Sites and the Two Holy Mosques, and that you will adhere to their instructions regarding health and safety both inside and outside of the Muslim holy sites. In addition, Al-Sudais reminded pilgrims that the Kingdom has made all sectors available around the clock for the purpose of providing service and comfort to pilgrims, as well as to assist them in performing their Hajj rituals in a safe and sound manner and returning to their home nation following their journey.
