Porsche experienced a notable 11 percent growth in sales across the Middle East, Africa, and India in the 2023 calendar year, delivering a total of 9,135 cars. This marks a continuous upward trend, with a 20 percent increase observed the previous year and an overall 47 percent growth in new car deliveries since 2020.
Dr. Manfred Bräunl, the Chief Executive Officer of Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, attributed this success to the combination of an exceptional product lineup and the dedicated efforts of importers and staff in the region. Reflecting on the achievements of 2023, he emphasized the team's commitment to delivering customer "dreams" and acknowledged the busy year marked by exciting events and new product launches, celebrating 75 years of Porsche sports cars.
The Cayenne retained its position as the best-selling model for Porsche in the region, with a new model contributing to its success in the past year. Notably, the Taycan, Porsche's all-electric sports saloon, experienced robust growth, soaring by 80 percent compared to the prior year.
The Icons of Porsche festival in Dubai, in its third edition, drew over 27,000 fans in November, showcasing the new Panamera and commemorating significant milestones in Porsche's history. Another highlight was the regional premiere of the all-electric Mission X hypercar concept and the 911 S/T at the Geneva International Motor Show in Qatar.
Throughout the region, various market activities celebrated Porsche milestones, including the 'Festival of Dreams' events. Additionally, facility openings and upgrades, including the inauguration of five facilities in India within a week, underscored the brand's commitment to expansion and service enhancement.
Looking ahead to 2024, Dr. Bräunl anticipates an "electrifying" year, with major product launches planned, including the all-electric Macan and Taycan models. The commitment extends to supporting and empowering trusted importer partners as Porsche continues to evolve and meet the demands of its growing customer base.
