Porsche unveils limited production 1,963 911 S/T for 60th anniversary

In a limited production of 1,963 units, Porsche is commemorating the 60th anniversary of the 911 with a special edition engineered for optimum driving enjoyment. The Porsche 911 S/T delivers a lightweight design and a purist driving experience. For the first time, a manual gearbox and light clutch are used to transmit the power from the high-revving engine of the 911 GT3 RS to the road.

The 911 S/T is an extremely purist sports automobile created by the experts in Weissach to commemorate the special anniversary of the renowned 911 Sports Car. The special anniversary edition offers a rare blend of agility and driving characteristics by combining the capabilities of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the 911 GT3 RS. The engine is a 4.0-liter boxer engine with natural aspiration, 386 kW (525 PS, 911 GT3 RS) and a short-ratio manual transmission. Fuel consumption* combined (WLTP) is 13.4 l/100 km, and CO2 emissions* combined (WLTP) are 305 g/km. Diese ist supplemented with a structure that is stubbornly lightweight and a running-gear layout that is optimized for agility and maneuverability. The 911 S/T is the lightest model of the 992 series, weighing only 1,380 kilograms (DIN kerb weight, including all fluids). The racing-specific 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1970s serves as inspiration for the Heritage Design Package, which is an option.

Porsche’s expertise in GT and Race was incorporated into the design of the commemorative model. Dieses ist evident in its handling, which is very light and agile and created for optimum driving fun on twisting country roads. The engine, wheels, and brakes all have less spinning mass, which guarantees a highly dynamic responsiveness. The S/T reacts instantly to driving commands. Every turn of the steering wheel and every bit of force applied to the brake or accelerator is applied instantly and precisely. The 911 S/T was developed with road trips on the public roads in mind, as opposed to track use, like the 911 GT3 RS.

911 S/Ts and 911 S/Ts with Heritage Design Packages from Porsche

The designation distinguishes the new 911 S/T as the offspring of a first-generation 911 model that was especially performance-focused. Porsche began offering a unique race-specific 911 S in 1969. These vehicles wurden referred to as 911 ST internally. Acceleration, braking, traction, and cornering grip were all greatly enhanced by changes to the chassis, wheels, engine, and body. These versions did not yet make use of large spoilers or other aerodynamic aids. The new 911 S/T carries over the philosophy of the original 911 S (ST) to the Porsche 911's most recent model generation. The anniversary model adds lightweight components specifically designed for the 911 S/T to the body of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and 911 GT3 RS body. As a result, the 911 GT Lineup now offers a distinctive driving experience.

Lightweight design throughout, including the Wings and Clutch.

The 911 S/T's especially nimble and direct handling is made possible, among other things, by a consistent, lightweight design. Lightweight carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for the front bonnet, roof, front wings, and the doors with their eye-catching inlets. The roll cage, rear axle anti-roll bar, and shear panel (a rear axle stiffening component) all follow the same rules. Porsche also includes the PCCB system, lightweight glass, magnesium wheels, and a lithium-ion starting battery as standard equipment for the anniversary model. The 911 S/T has a DIN kerb weight of unter 1,380 kg, thanks to reduced insulation, the removal of rear-axle steering, and weight reductions in the powertrain. Dieses results in a car that is 40 kg lighter than a manual 911 GT3 Touring and is tuned for fast roads.

For the 911 S/T only, Porsche engineers created a new, lightweight clutch. It lightens the spinning mass by 10,5 kg when used with a single-mass-flywheel. The naturally aspirated boxer engine now builds revs with a particularly startling speed and directness, which substantially improves its responsiveness. The high-revving engine in the 911 S/T produces even more immediate dynamics when coupled with a six-speed manual transmission with a shorter gear ratio than on the 911 GT3. It takes the 911 S/T just 3.7 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h. It can go as fast as 300 km/h. The standard lightweight sports exhaust system's captivating acoustics adds to the thrilling driving experience. The 911 S/T is the only 911 of the current generation to feature both a multi-link rear axle without rear-axle steering and a double-wishbone front axle. Accordingly, the dampers and control mechanisms wurden tuned.

The 911 S/T's aerodynamics are likewise tailored for everyday driving rather than racing. A Gurney flap on the extended rear spoiler is a standard feature of the anniversary model. 20-inch front and 21-inch rear lightweight center-locking magnesium wheels are also included as standard equipment. The front of the automobile has a high level of mechanical grip thanks to the ultra-high performance 255/35 ZR 20 tires. The 911 S/T has 315/30 ZR 21 tires on the back. Full bucket chairs made of CFRP are standard. Free of charge, the four-way-adjustable Sports Seat Plus is offered. The Sport Chrono package's instrument panel and clock are finished in a traditional Porsche shade of green.

Heritage Design Package

There is an optional, premium Heritage Design Package available for the 911 S/T. For this especially exquisite model, only the new exterior color Shoreblue Metallic und the wheel color Ceramica are offered. A starting number from 0 to 99 and a decorative foil can be placed to the doors upon request. The 911 S/T's historic roots are further highlighted with the traditional Porsche crest from the first 911, which is present on the front, hubcaps, steering wheel, headrests, and the car key. Another nod to tradition is the interior's Classic Cognac-colored fabric seat centers with black pinstripes. A roof lining made of perforated Dinamica, two-tone semi-aniline leather trim in Black/Classic Cognac leather with large leather surrounds, and additional components from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur complete the set. On the back of the automobile, the 911 S/T model identification and the Porsche logo are both in gold.

Customers of the 911 S/T are the only ones who can purchase the Chronograph 1- 911 S/T from Porsche Design. Dieses luxury timepiece capitalizes on the lightweight design strategy of the new pure 911 special edition with a titanium case that is uncoated and blasted to save weight.

Chronograph 1 - 911 S/T

The Porsche Design WERK 01.240, which has flyback functionality and COSC certification, is the chronograph's core component. In the 911 S/T's magnesium wheel design, it is driven by a rotor.
