Dammam, October 26, 2024 — The Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA), in collaboration with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), GO15, and Med-TSO, will host the “Powering the Future Toward Net Zero” forum in Dammam on October 27. The two-day international event, held under the patronage of Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, aims to advance discussions on strategies for achieving net-zero emissions in the energy sector, focusing on regional and global collaboration and innovation.
GCCIA CEO Eng. Ahmed Al Ebrahim emphasized that the forum will center on the development of a robust regional grid to support a reliable, affordable, and zero-emissions energy future. Key sessions will examine the role of advanced grid infrastructure in achieving net-zero targets, showcasing technologies that improve grid resilience and affordability while supporting the shift to sustainable energy sources.
