Maputo, October 11, 2023, President Filipe Nyusi of the Republic of Mozambique welcomed Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Envoy for Climate Affairs, Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, along with the accompanying delegation during their meeting.
At the outset, Al-Jubeir conveyed the warm regards of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to President Nyusi. He extended best wishes for the government and people of Mozambique, expressing hopes for continued progress and prosperity. In reciprocation, President Nyusi conveyed his greetings and appreciation to the Saudi leadership, government, and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was an occasion to review the bilateral relations between the two countries and explore avenues for strengthening and expanding them, aligning with the shared aspirations of both nations for further growth and prosperity.
In a noteworthy announcement, President Nyusi expressed his warm welcome and anticipation of participating in the forthcoming Saudi-African summit, set to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia later in the year.
Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir expressed the Kingdom's gratitude and appreciation to the Republic of Mozambique for its unwavering support for Saudi Arabia's bid to host Expo 2030 in Riyadh. He also commended the Mozambique Football Federation's endorsement of the Kingdom's candidacy to host the World Cup in 2034.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the Office of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Khalid bin Musaed Al-Anqari, and the Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Mozambique, Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Issa. This diplomatic engagement underlines the commitment of both nations to foster collaborative and prosperous relations.
