Lomé, October 12, 2023, In a diplomatic exchange of courtesy and collaboration, President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbe of the Republic of Togo received Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Envoy for Climate, along with his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, Al-Jubeir conveyed warm greetings and well-wishes from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to President Faure and the people of the Republic of Togo. These messages emphasized the desire for continued progress and prosperity in Togo.
The discussions between the two parties encompassed a wide array of subjects, including the enhancement of bilateral relations and areas of potential cooperation, in addition to addressing various matters of mutual interest.
Notably, Al-Jubeir expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's profound gratitude for Togo's steadfast support for Saudi Arabia's endeavors to host the Expo 2030 and the 2034 World Cup. In response, President Faure warmly welcomed the Kingdom's hosting of the first Saudi-African summit and the fifth Arab-African summit in Riyadh later in the year, highlighting the amicable relationship between the two nations.
In another important diplomatic meeting during this visit, Al-Jubeir also engaged with Robert Dussey, Togo's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration, and Togolese Abroad. This meeting served as a platform to discuss various issues of shared concern and interest, reinforcing the diplomatic bonds between Saudi Arabia and Togo.
