Birmingham, April 10, 2024, Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) Chairman Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal was honored with a prestigious SportAccord award during a ceremony at the ongoing SportAccord Convention in Birmingham, UK. The event was graced by the presence of International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and Association of National Olympic Committees President Robin E. Mitchell.

Additionally, SOPC was lauded for its hosting of the World Combat Games in Riyadh in 2023, which saw the participation of over 1,500 athletes from more than 120 countries.
Expressing gratitude for the award, Prince Abdulaziz credited the unwavering support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, emphasizing that without their backing, such grand-scale events would not have been possible in the Kingdom.
